Bette Green of Waikoloa was named the female winner of the 2014 Outstanding Older American award at the annual Older American Award Luncheon.
The winners were announced by Mayor Billy Kenoi and Alan Parker, director of Elderly Services.
Green was nominated by District 9 Councilwoman Margaret Wille for her many community contributions to Waikoloa and the district. Because of a family illness, Green’s husband, Robert Green, accepted the award on her behalf.
